WHY Gen-19X

Our first knife, named "BladeX Gen-19X," is a testament to the extensive testing and modifications that shaped our initial product:

  • 1 represents the initial prototype phase, where we conceptualized and created the first BladeX design, laying the groundwork for all future developments.

  • 9 signifies the nine rigorous performance tests our knives underwent, including assessments for sharpness, durability, corrosion resistance, and multi-functionality. These tests ensured that our product met the highest standards of quality and reliability.

  • X represents the ongoing updates and improvements made based on feedback from our community and participants.

Concept sketch

This hand-drawn illustration depicts our first-generation product. Initially, the blade featured a large Fuller, which negatively impacted its hardness during testing. To address this issue, we revised the design, reducing it from three holes to one, thereby improving the knife's overall performance.

First version design

This is the effect after the modification. Although we retained the Fuller design, our design team felt the overall look was still lacking in coordination and novelty. Therefore, we redesigned the Fuller, adopting an "X" shape composed of two triangles, resulting in a more cohesive and innovative appearance.

We're considering adding a yellow glow-in-the-dark effect to the handle's fixing screw but haven't finalized the decision yet. Alternatively, we might incorporate color in other ways. We would love to hear your ideas and suggestions on how we can enhance the design with color. Here are a few options we're contemplating:

  1. Glow-in-the-Dark Elements:

    • Screws: Adding the yellow glow-in-the-dark effect to the fixing screws for better visibility in low-light conditions.

    • Logo or Branding: Applying the glow effect to the logo or branding on the handle for a striking visual impact.

  2. Accent Colors:

    • Handle Inlays: Incorporating colored inlays or stripes on the handle for a more dynamic appearance.

    • Blade Edges: Adding a subtle color tint to the blade edges or spine for a unique touch.

  3. Multicolor Options:

    • Customization: Offering users the choice of different color combinations for the handle and blade to personalize their knife.

    • Gradient Effects: Implementing gradient color effects on the handle or blade for a modern, stylish look.

  4. Material Changes:

    • Colored Materials: Using colored materials for certain parts of the knife, such as anodized aluminum or colored G10 scales.

    • Reflective Elements: Incorporating reflective materials into the handle for added safety and visibility.

We welcome your thoughts and any additional ideas you might have to make our knife even better!

Second version design

During testing, we discovered that the original handle was too long and slightly heavy. To address this, we redesigned the back part of the handle into a keychain while retaining the window breaker function. The knife now features a rotating opening and closing mechanism, operated by a push switch on the front. By pushing the switch, you can rotate one side of the handle to release and secure the blade.

We believe this is our perfect design so far, but we want to make it even better with your help. Join us in the design process and share your thoughts and ideas! Your feedback is invaluable as we strive to create the ultimate knife that meets all your needs and preferences.
